This three-day joint seminar with Jim Erwin and Doug Beardsley will cover the fundamentals of emergency medicine, foundational pistol craft, target acquisition, and competency drills.
During this course, attendees will receive training and certification in USCCA Emergency First Aid Fundamentals.

About Jim Erwin
Jim “The Kraken” Erwin is a veteran of the U.S. Special Operations Forces, including service as a 1st SFOD-D (Delta) Operator.
He was part of the 1st SFOD-D selection course – where he was ultimately one of five candidates chosen from a class of nearly 100.
Erwin was awarded the Distinguished Honor Graduate of his U.S. Army Sniper Course while serving with 2/75 Ranger Bat. He also served as the ranking NCO for a military free-fall platoon with a Long Range Surveillance Company.
After leaving active duty, Erwin provided close protection and security for high-profile clientele across the globe, including many high-threat environments.
He is a certified FBI Advanced Firearms Instructor and has earned several instructor certifications for the NRA.

About Doug Beardsley
With over three decades of experience in emergency medicine, Doug Beardsley brings unparalleled expertise to Blue Dragon Strategies LLC. Beginning his career as an EMT-Basic and advancing to a Paramedic, Doug has dedicated 33 years to the field, including specialized roles in critical care transport and 20 years as a Firefighter Paramedic in South Snohomish County. His commitment to public safety extended into law enforcement, serving as a City Police Officer in Southwest Washington.
An esteemed educator, Doug has taught Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support for the American Heart Association. Expanding his instructional repertoire, he recently added Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC-MP) and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) under the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT).
Doug’s martial arts journey spans three decades, exploring disciplines from Karate to Wing Chun and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, culminating in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. As an instructor in Wing Chun and Bujinkan, he blends traditional martial arts with practical defense strategies.
Further diversifying his skill set, Doug is certified in home defense and emergency medicine under the NRA and USCCA, alongside a foundation in bushcraft and survival.
In 2018, Doug founded Blue Dragon Strategies LLC to share his wealth of knowledge with both professionals and civilians. The company, in partnership with Plumb Precision, offers a range of services, including a Class 7 FFL and, as of 2024, Cerakoting, showcasing Doug’s commitment to excellence and innovation in safety and defense.
